A SECURITIZAÇÃO DO TERRORISMO E O ESTADO DE EXCEÇÃO: uma análise dos discursos do ex-presidente George W. Bush

Apoiada nos preceitos teóricos da Escola de Copenhague, a presente dissertação analisa o processo de securitização do terrorismo a partir dos discursos do ex-presidente estadunidense George Walker Bush, após os atentados de 11 de setembro de 2001. Ademais, valendo-se do conceito de Estado de Exceção presente nas obras de Carl Schmitt e Giorgio Agamben, este trabalho busca examinar a relação dialética dos discursos analisados com as políticas de exceção implementadas na “guerra ao terror” e seu uso contínuo.

THE SECURITIZATION OF TERRORISM AND THE STATE OF EXCEPTION: an analysis of the speeches of former president George W. Bush

Based on the theoretical precepts of the Copenhagen School, this dissertation analyzes the process of securitization of terrorism from the speeches of former US President George Walker Bush, after the September 11, 2001 attacks. Furthermore, drawing on the concept of the state of exception present in the works of Carl Schmitt and Giorgio Agamben, this paper seeks to examine the dialectical relationship that the analyzed discourses have with the exception policies implemented in the “war on terror” and its continuous use.
