A espiritualidade latino-americana: espírito, libertação e práxis em Jon Sobrino

Jon Sobrino é um teólogo latino-americano que nasceu na Espanha em 1938, doutor em Teologia, tendo publicado diversas obras valiosas, que são verdadeiros tratados teológicos, dialogando com autores teólogos e outras áreas do saber. Esta pesquisa desenvolve uma abordagem sobre a espiritualidade latino-americana da libertação a partir da reflexão teológica do teólogo Jon Sobrino. Por isso, elucidamos o que Sobrino considera como pressupostos e fundamentos da espiritualidade latino-americana da libertação que pode contribuir para pensar outras espiritualidades: espírito, libertação e práxis. Nosso objetivo é apresentar a novidade sobriniana sobre a espiritualidade que abrange as dimensões antropológica e teológica. Sobrino defende que a espiritualidade é um bem do espírito humano. Para a teologia latino-americana da libertação, esse bem do espírito é um verdadeiro potencial humano que deve ser colocado a serviço do processo de libertação. Estas duas categorias: espírito e libertação se manifestam por meio de uma praxiologia. Desse modo, o ser humano, a libertação e a práxis são potencializados pelo espírito como dimensão integradora. A espiritualidade está totalmente ligada ao ser humano (aspecto antropológico) e, ao mesmo tempo, proporciona uma experiência com Deus (aspecto teológico) que também é potencializada pelo aspecto espiritual denominado por Jon Sobrino de Espírito. Entretanto, trata-se da mesma dimensão da espiritualidade que para efeito de análises e distinção é descrito como espírito para a realidade antropológica e Espírito para a realidade teológica, embora Sobrino afirme não ser fácil distingui-las tampouco separá-las. Consideramos essa relação entre Antropologia e Teologia como a grande novidade da espiritualidade sobriniana. Nossa pesquisa é desenvolvida pela metodologia e epistemologia das Ciências da Religião, uma vez que nosso objetivo não é fazer Teologia, mas analisar a espiritualidade sobriniana que articula Antropologia e Teologia para apresentar sua contribuição e pensar a espiritualidade da libertação. Por isso, cremos que a Teologia é uma disciplina auxiliar no agrupamento da metodologia e da epistemologia das Ciências da Religião, justificando que nossa pesquisa é viável e pode contribuir com a compreensão sobre a espiritualidade no fenômeno religioso, abrangendo outras áreas do saber. Procuramos analisar as obras de J. Sobrino através do método hermenêutico por meio da dialética com outros autores. Portanto, enfatizamos a espiritualidade sobriniana como espírito, libertação e práxis e, por isso, elucidamos que a Teologia da Libertação é portadora de uma espiritualidade aberta para dialogar com outras expressões religiosas e não religiosas.

Latim american spirituality : spirit, liberation and praxis in Jon Sobrino

Jon Sobrino is a Latin American theologian who was born in Spain in 1938 and holds a PhD in Theology. He has published several valuable works, which are true theological treatises, which dialogue with Theology authors and other knowledge fields. This research was carried out in order to develop an approach about the Latin-American Liberation spirituality, taking the theological reflection of the theologian Jon Sobrino, as a starting point. Therefore, it will be elucidate what Sobrino considers as presuppositions and foundations of the Latin American Liberation spirituality which may contribute to reflect on other spiritualities such as spirit, liberation and praxis. Our aim is to present Sobrino’s originality in terms of spirituality which covers both the anthropological and theological dimensions. Sobrino claims that spirituality is an asset which is inherit to the human spirit. According to the Latin American Liberation Theology, this asset of the spirit is a veracious human potential that must be placed at the service of the process of liberation. These two categories namely spirit and liberation are manifested through praxiology. Thus, the human being, liberation and praxis are enhanced by the spirit as an integrating dimension. Spirituality is totally connected to the human being (anthropological aspect) and, at the same time, provides an experience with God (theological aspect) which is also enhanced by the spiritual aspect named Spirit by Jon Sobrino. However, it is the same dimension of spirituality that for the purpose of analysis and distinction is described as spirit to anthropological reality and Spirit to theological reality, although Sobrino claims it is not easy to distinguish them nor to separate them. It is considered that this relationship between Anthropology and Theology the great novelty of Sobrino’s spirituality. Our research is carried out through the methodology and epistemology of the Sciences of Religion, since our aim is not to formulate Theology, but to analyse the Sobrinian spirituality that articulates Anthropology and Theology in order to present its contribution and examine the Liberation spirituality. Therefore, it is believed that Theology is an auxiliary field in the group of methodology and epistemology of the Sciences of Religion, justifying that our research is viable and might contribute to the understanding of spirituality in the religious phenomenon, encompassing other areas of knowledge. It is tried to analyse the works of J. Sobrino through the hermeneutic method by means of the dialectical practice applied to other authors. Therefore, it is highlighted the Sobriniana spirituality as spirit, liberation and praxis, as a result it is explained that the Liberation Theology is bearer of a spirituality which is open to dialogue with other religious, as well as with non-religious expressions.
