RELIGIÃO E IDENTIDADE: O cristianismo ortodoxo e o posicionamento pró-Rússia em Grécia e Romênia

A pesquisa se propõe a analisar o posicionamento pró-Rússia em Grécia e Romênia, tendo como objetivo compreender esse fenômeno a partir de uma perspectiva construtivista do campo das Relações Internacionais. Partindo de uma percepção favorável à Rússia em termos geopolíticos e religiosos, buscou-se analisar os contextos internos dos países supracitados, tendo como ponto de partida um questionamento acerca de como seria possível compreender o fenômeno em questão considerando que ambos os países são Estados membros da União Europeia (UE). A investigação foi guiada pela hipótese de que, devido a seus respectivos contextos religiosos (Ortodoxos), culturais, políticos, sociais e históricos, levou a uma percepção distinta do que se entende por secularismo na Europa Ocidental, fazendo com que esse estranhamento contribua para uma percepção favorável da Rússia enquanto protetora dos cristãos ortodoxos no mundo. O referencial teórico utilizado abordou os conceitos relativos ao secular, ao secularismo e à secularização, além de afirmações sociais, processos de articulação e interpelação e imaginários sociais. A metodologia aplicada consistiu em um rastreamento histórico por meio do process-tracing interpretativo e análise de conteúdo.

RELIGION AND IDENTITY: the Orthodox Christianity and the pro-Russia public opinion in Greece and Romania

This research proposes to analyze the pro-Russia public opinion in Greece and Romania, aiming to understand this phenomenon from a constructivist perspective in the study field of International Relations. Starting from data regarding a favorable perception for Russia in geopolitical and religious terms in both countries, it was sought to analyze the internal contexts of the aforementioned countries, starting with a question concerning how is it possible to understand the phenomenon studied, taking into account the fact that both countries are members of the European Union. An investigation was guided by the hypothesis that, due to its religious (cultural), political, social and historical contexts, the secular environment of the European Union led to the construction of different perceptions regarding the meaning of secularism as apart from the currently existing in Western Europe, making this distance contribute to a favorable perception of Russia as protector of Orthodox Christians in the world. The theoretical framework used addresses concepts related to the secular, secularism and secularization, in addition to social claims, processes of articulation and interpellation and social imaginaries. The applied methodology consisted of a historical review through an investigation executed with the support of the interpretative processtracing and the analysis of a few documents with content analysis
